ALFDP Committees
Annual Conference Committee
Work with the Vice President and an event planner approved by the Board of Directors and
Conference Committee subcommittees (Programming, Venue, Fundraising/Sponsorship,
Volunteers) to plan and execute the annual conference. Conduct and provide follow up reports
on attendance, budget, and attendee feedback.
Audit Committee
Conduct bi-annual/annual review(s) of the Association’s financial records and all required tax
filings. Ensure that the Association has the necessary resources to carry out its programming
and mission and sufficient cash reserves for long-term success. Ensure that all Association
business is conducted to avoid conflicts of interest.
Elections Committee
Oversee Association board member nominations in accordance with ALFDP bylaws, and
manage the election process at the annual conference.
Finance Committee
Under the leadership of the Treasurer, provide overall financial oversight of the Association,
monthly financial statements, financial reporting and all required tax filings. Develop the annual
budget.
Governance Committee
Review and make recommendations to the Board concerning the governance structures and
practices of the Association, including the ALFDP bylaws, policies, and procedures.
Membership Committee
Make recommendations to the Board regarding qualifications for membership, assist with new
member orientation and member engagement, and provide resources and related instruction for
members.
Social Media and Communications Committee
Administer and oversee the ALFDP social media account(s) and website and monitor the impact
of external communications. Develop and implement a communications strategy for internet-
ready content in collaboration with the Board and an external PR or media consultant/resource.
Strategic Partnerships Committee
Build and maintain partnerships with external organizations and individuals whose values and
goals are aligned with the Association's. Advance the work of any partnerships that result from
these relationships.
Programming Committee
Provide relevant and timely programming with speakers and related materials throughout the
year. This includes designated Monthly Member Meetings (M3).

ALFDP committees consist of a chair (or two co-chairs) appointed by the ALFDP President, and ALFDP member volunteers. All ALFDP members are eligible to serve on committees.
